Description

Discover how to make the perfect Lipton Onion Soup Meatloaf. Easy, flavorful, and versatile—it’s the ultimate comfort food your family will love!

Ingredients

Essential Ingredients

  1. Ground Meat – 2 pounds (beef, pork, or a combination; 80/20 fat ratio preferred).
  2. Lipton Onion Soup Mix – 1 packet (for robust flavor and seasoning).
  3. Breadcrumbs – 1 cup (regular, panko, or gluten-free options).
  4. Eggs – 2 large (for binding).
  5. Milk – 1/2 cup (to add moisture; water or broth works as substitutes).
  6. Ketchup or Barbecue Sauce – 1/4 cup (optional, for glaze).

Optional Add-Ins

  1. Vegetables – 1/2 cup finely chopped or grated (e.g., carrots, celery, or bell peppers).
  2. Cheese – 1/2 cup shredded (cheddar or parmesan for added richness).
  3. Fresh Herbs – 2 tablespoons chopped (parsley or thyme for a fresh kick).
  4. Garlic – 1–2 cloves minced (for extra flavor).

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Prepare the Meat Mixture

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine:
    • 2 pounds of ground meat.
    • 1 packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix.
    • 1 cup of breadcrumbs.
    • 2 eggs.
    • 1/2 cup of milk.
  2. Mix the ingredients gently using your hands or a spatula. Avoid overmixing, as it can make the meatloaf dense.
  3. If using optional add-ins like vegetables or cheese, fold them into the mixture at this stage.

Step 3: Shape the Meatloaf

  • Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared baking sheet or loaf pan.
  • Shape it into a loaf that’s evenly sized to ensure even cooking.

Step 4: Add a Glaze (Optional)

  • For added flavor, brush the top of the meatloaf with ketchup, barbecue sauce, or a mixture of Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar.

Step 5: Bake the Meatloaf

  1. Place the meatloaf in the oven and bake for 50–60 minutes.
  2. Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer—it should read 160°F (70°C) when fully cooked.

Step 6: Rest and Serve

  • Once baked, let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, keeping it moist.
  • Slice and serve with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
