Ingredients
  

Dough

  • 1 cup warm milk 110°F (45°C)
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

Filling

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup butter softened

Baking Hack

  • 1 cup heavy cream for pouring over rolls before baking

Frosting

  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup butter softened
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add melted butter, eggs, salt, and flour. Knead until smooth.
  • Cover and let rise for 60 minutes until doubled in size.
  • Roll out dough into a rectangle. Spread butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar over it.
  • Roll tightly and slice into 12 rolls. Place in a greased baking dish.
  • Pour heavy cream over the rolls and let soak for 10 minutes.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Whisk frosting ingredients together and spread over warm rolls.

Notes

For even softer rolls, cover them loosely with foil while baking to prevent excessive browning.
